The Two Biggest Issues I See in CrossFit Athletes

As a physical therapist who specializes in CrossFit, I often see two recurring issues that lead to pain and injuries.

Here’s what they are and how you can address them:

1. Poor Core Control

A strong, stable core is crucial for all movements, especially in CrossFit. Without proper core control, you’re more likely to experience back pain and other injuries. Focus on exercises that strengthen your core and improve your stability.

2. Poor Hip Control

Hip control is vital for movements like squats, deadlifts, and cleans. Weak or imbalanced hip muscles can lead to improper form and increased injury risk. Incorporate hip-strengthening exercises into your routine to enhance your performance and reduce pain.

By addressing these common issues, you can improve your form, reduce pain, and enhance your overall performance in CrossFit.
